MetMalaysia issues thunderstorm warning for Kuching, Serian, Samarahan, notice valid until 10am (April 18)

KUCHING, April 18: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a thunderstorm warning for three areas in Sarawak this morning.

Anticipated weather conditions include thunderstorms, heavy rain, and strong winds affecting Kuching, Serian, and Samarahan. The warning, issued at 7.40am today, remains in effect until 10am.


“A warning is issued when there are signs of a thunderstorm with a rain intensity greater than 20 mm/hour that is approaching or expected to last for more than an hour. A thunderstorm warning is a short-term warning that is valid for a maximum of six hours per release,” it highlighted. — DayakDaily
