KUCHING, Aug 14: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a thunderstorm warning for several areas in Sarawak from this afternoon in a notice which is valid until 5pm today.
Anticipated weather conditions include thunderstorms, heavy rain, and strong winds affecting Betong, Sarikei, Sibu, Mukah, Miri (Miri), dan Limbang (Lawas). The warning, which was issued at 2.30pm today.

“A warning is issued when there are signs of a thunderstorm with a rain intensity greater than 20 mm/hour that is approaching or expected to last for more than an hour. A thunderstorm warning is a short-term warning that is valid for a maximum of six hours per issuance,” it highlighted. — DayakDaily
