KUCHING, July 13: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued an alert-level warning for continuous rain from today until July 15 for three states.
In a statement released at 11.30 am today, MetMalaysia announced that Sarawak, Sabah, and the Federal Territory of Labuan are expected to experience continuous rain.
“The affected areas in Sarawak are located in Limbang, while those in Sabah are in the interior (Sipitang, Kuala Penyu, and Beaufort), west coast, Sandakan (Beluran), and Kudat, as well as the Federal Territory of Labuan,” it said.
Furthermore, MetMalaysia highlighted that the Continuous Heavy Rain (Danger) warning is issued when signs indicate that continuous heavy rain is expected to occur, with total rainfall exceeding 150 mm within 24 hours; the Continuous Heavy Rain (Bad) warning is issued when signs indicate that continuous heavy rain is expected to occur, with total rainfall exceeding 60 mm within six hours; and the Continuous Heavy Rain (Alert) warning is issued when rain/thunderstorms are occurring/are expected to occur in an area for more than six hours. — DayakDaily
