KUCHING, Jan 23: Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a thunderstorm warning for Sibu, Mukah, Kapit and Bintulu in Sarawak today.
Anticipated weather conditions include thunderstorms, heavy rainfall, and strong winds affecting Sibu (Sibu and Selangau), Mukah (Matu, Dalat and Mukah), Kapit (Kapit and Belaga) and Bintulu (Tatau and Sebauh). The warning, issued at 10.40am today, remains in effect until 2pm.
“A warning is issued when there are signs of a thunderstorm with a rain intensity greater than 20 mm/hour that is approaching or expected to last for more than an hour.
“A thunderstorm warning is a short-term warning that is valid for a maximum of six hours per release,” it highlighted. — DayakDaily
