KUCHING, Jan 21: Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a thunderstorm warning for Kuching and various areas in Sarawak this evening.
Anticipated weather conditions include thunderstorms, heavy rainfall, and strong winds affecting Kuching (Kuching), Serian, Samarahan, Sri Aman, Betong (Pusa and Betong), Sarikei (Pakan and Julau), Sibu (Kanowit), Kapit (Song and Kapit), and Bintulu (Tatau and Sebauh). The warning, issued at 5.45pm today, remains in effect until 8pm.
“A warning is issued when there are signs of a thunderstorm with a rain intensity greater than 20 mm/hour that is approaching or expected to last for more than an hour. A thunderstorm warning is a short-term warning that is valid for a maximum of six hours per release,” it highlighted. — DayakDaily
