KUCHING, Nov 17: Sixteen districts in Sarawak were issued with thunderstorm warnings until 6pm today.
The Malaysian Meteorological Department (METMalaysia), in an advisory issued at 2.35pm, said the affected districts are Sri Aman, Betong, Saratok, Sarikei, Pakan, Sarikei, Meradong, Sibu, Selangau, Mukah, Tanjung Manis, Daro, Matu, Miri, Subis, and Limbang.
The department said the thunderstorm warning is issued when there are signs of a thunderstorm with rain intensity of more than 20mm/hour close to or expected to last for more than an hour.
It added that a thunderstorm warning is a short-term warning valid for a period not exceeding six hours for a single release. — DayakDaily
