KUCHING, Jan 9: Eight luxury cars parked inside a garage of a workshop at Jalan Pahlawan, Bintawa here were damaged in a fire around 4.50am this morning.
According to a report by Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), four of the vehicles were completely destroyed in the tragedy, namely a Volkswagen Peter, CRS Mercedes, BMW 7 Series and Audi Q7.
Meanwhile, three other cars—Mercedes E200, Mercedes B180 and BMW 7 Series—sustained 50 per cent damage whereas the last car of a Volkswagen type was successfully extracted from the scene.
“The fire did not cause any damage to the building’s structure and the flames were successfully contained around 5.28am.
“The cause of the fire and total losses are still under investigation,” the Bomba reported. — DayakDaily
