Mentally disabled man goes missing from home in Kg Lakutan

Bomba personnel seeking more information from the victim’s relatives at his house.

LAWAS, Apr 10: A search and rescue operation has been launched after a mentally disabled man was reported missing from Kg Lakutan, Jln Merapok.

According to information from the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), the 50-year-old man from went to a farm alone with his motorcycle yesterday morning at 8.30 am.

After learning that he did not come back home around noon time, the man’s sister went out to find him with the help of other villagers yesterday.


They only managed to find the victim’s motorcycle not far from their house later in the evening.

As a result, a search and rescue mission was launched this morning.

A few members of Bomba, police and civil defense services together with the help of villagers went out in search of the victim.

It is understood that this is the third time the victim has gone missing after he failed to return home twice in the past.

At the moment, the search and rescue effort is concentrated within 530 metres from the victim’s motorcycle which he dropped off yesterday.

The location of the victim is still unknown as this juncture. —DayakDaily
