KUCHING, May 10: Meluan assemblyman Rolland Duat Jubin hopes that there will be no water supply interruptions, especially in Pasar Julau and Jalan KJD, during the upcoming Gawai Dayak.
In the event that such an incident occurs, he has proposed for a task force to be set up to resolve the issue immediately, together with the Sarawak Rural Water Supply Department (JBALB), the District Office, and the Meluan Constituency Service Centre.
“We need to ensure that people can report their problems and get answers promptly.
“I don’t want the people of Meluan to suddenly experience water supply problems without knowing the cause and also not knowing where to ask,” he said when debating in support of Tuan Yang Terutama’s (TYT) address in the Sarawak Legislative Assembly (DUS) sitting here today.
For areas in Meluan that have not yet received treated water supply, he queried the latest developments in the proposed Rural Water Supply Project to be developed separately so that the cost remains below RM50 million.
“I believe that the Sarawak government has a plan for the residence of civil servants and will take into account the Ministry of Health (MOH) staff in this plan.
“The MOH cannot plan alone and this change in scope will only delay the project and cause the people to bear the burden of the inefficiency of implementation,” he added. – DayakDaily
