MDS to build temporary road to Kampung Gayu in Serian after road destroyed by landslides, floods

KUCHING, Feb 10: A temporary access road will be built for residents in Lorong 15 Kampung Gayu in Serian after the road to the village was destroyed by landslides and floods recently.

According to a news report from the Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas) today, Serian District Resident Tuah Suni said that the temporary road will enable access to the village.

“The Serian District Council (MDS) will build a temporary road to facilitate the residents as the collapsed road is still impassable to vehicles while waiting for the new bridge to be constructed,” he said when visiting the village on Thursday.


On Wednesday (Feb 9), the floods and landslides that hit the area has caused the bridges in the village to collapsed and also uprooted several trees in the area. — DayakDaily
