“Those who fail to abide by the SOP, will have compounding action taken against them,” he warned in a statement today.

Freddy wanted all communities to work together with the enforcement team and the medical community to curb the spread of the Covid-19 epidemic.

“In ensuring that the Kapit district is free from this epidemic, the role of the community is very important, which is to stay at home and avoid gatherings and practicing personal hygiene.

“Community leaders, longhouse chieftains as well as village development committee are also required to play a role in advising and ensuring that SOPs are complied with.

Parents are also advised to monitor the movement of children, especially in the evening and night time to ensure that they don’t hang out and gather, especially in areas where there is a Covid-19 epidemic. We will issue compound if they are caught doing so,” he said.

Freddy said cooperation from all parties would help to return Kapit to the green zone of Covid-19.

He also thanked all those who are working together with the police enforcement team to curb the spread of the Covid-19 epidemic so that the MCO period for Kapit district will not be extended later. — DayakDaily
