KUCHING, March 28: Miri City Council (MCC) advises ratepayers in Miri to ensure mail boxes are available at their premises in order for all correspondence to be properly delivered.

MCC said ratepayers are also advised to update their correspondence details such as mailing address, handphone number and email address.

“…[A]ssessment bills are able to be sent via e-billing and the ratepayers will also receive SMS notifications on their latest assessment bill status,” it said in a statement today.

MCC added ratepayers should also utilise online payment facilities such as S Pay Global, the Service Sarawak website and apps, and Pay Bills Malaysia website to avoid the inconvenience of queuing at the counter.

Currently, the council disclosed, Miri has a total of 71,687 properties which includes residential, commercial and industrial holdings with the expected yield of RM52.7 million in rates for the year 2022.

“Payment of assessment rates to the City Council does matter. It helps us to make Miri City a sustainable city and give quality and efficient services to the rakyat as a whole,” it said.

Meanwhile, MCC said the council is offering to subsidise the purchase of 2-wheel bin purchase for RM50 for each residential property as part of its ongoing promotion of assessment rate payment for year 2022.

It said the promotion is on a first-come-first-served basis and valid for residential properties without any outstanding assessment rates including those who make full settlement of 2022 assessment rates. Terms and conditions apply.

“This promotion will end on 31st March 2022,” MCC added. — DayakDaily
