MCC names Abdul Rahman, Pah Arin, Jia Jia as winners of Eco Arts Competition

MIRI, Sept 7: Abdul Rahman Ahmad came out on top in the Eco Arts Competition which was held in conjunction with the Borneo Jazz Festival 2022.

Abdul Rahman received a trophy, a certificate and a cash prize of RM300 for his win.

First runner-up Pah Arin won a trophy, a certificate and a cash prize of RM200 for her outstanding effort while Jee Jia Jia received a trophy, a certificate and a cash prize of RM100 in third place.


The prize-giving ceremony for the competition which was held from June 24 to 26, took place at Miri City Hall.

The competition was part of the activities held under Borneo Jazz Festival 2022’s “The Borneo Jazz Talent Search Programme” which provided a platform for all Malaysians to showcase their talents with categories ranging from Jazz music, DJ and open categories, including Eco Art Project.

Green Community and Environment Development Standing Committee of Miri City Council (MCC) under the chairmanship of Councillor Karambir Singh together with MCC’s Sustainable Development Goal Section oversaw the judging and selection of winners where participants were required to produce their art with recycled material. — DayakDaily
