KUCHING, Nov 17: Kuching South City Council (MBKS) has launched its Cloud Pavilion featuring a unique display made of bamboo.
The bamboo Cloud Pavilion, designed by INTODESIGN Lab and skillfully constructed by the Borneo Highland Bidayuh community, symbolises multicultural exchange and unity.
MBKS mayor Dato Wee Hong Seng, who attended the launching ceremony at MBKS headquarters, commended the vision behind the Cloud Pavilion.
He emphasised that such events embody the spirit of unity that characterises Kuching as a City for Unity.
“We congratulate them on this vision,” said Wee, expressing gratitude to Pertubuhan Akitek Malaysia Sarawak Chapter (PAMSC) for hosting the event celebrating World Architecture Day and PDF2023.
Wee highlighted that the Cloud Pavilion would serve as a beautiful and inspiring destination for Kuching families, enhancing the appeal of the popular civic park. .
Additionally, Wee shared MBKS’s aspirations for Palmerium Park to evolve into a cultural hub in the near future.
Collaborating closely with the Sarawak Creative Art and Cultural Association, plans are underway to enhance the park, providing more benefits to children and the local community. — DayakDaily
