In a press release, MBKS reminded all ratepayers that payments made after the due date will incur a surcharge of one percent per month or part thereof.

As assessment bills for both halves of the year have already been issued by post or hand delivery, the council emphasised that no waivers will be granted for late payments due to non-receipt of bills.

Ratepayers who have not received or have misplaced their bills are advised to visit the One Stop Service Counter at the MBKS Headquarters lobby in Jalan Padungan or the Urban Transformation Centre (UTC) at Level 1, Jalan Bukit Mata, where copies of the bills will be provided upon request.

Alternatively, ratepayers may pay their bills electronically through www.paybillsmalaysia.com, https://service.sarawak.gov.my, SPay Global, or via internet banking with CIMB Bank Berhad, Standard Chartered Bank Malaysia, Bank Kerjasama Rakyat Malaysia Berhad, Bank Islam, Public Bank Berhad, JomPay, and Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN).

Payments can also be made at counters at BSN, Sesco, Kuching Water Board (KWB), the Post Office, Kuching North City Commission (DBKU), Padawan Municipal Council (MPP), and UTC.

MBKS counters also accept credit card payments.

For details on online payment options, the public can visit the MBKS website at https://mbks.sarawak.gov.my.
