KUCHING, Jan 4: The decision to transition from paper parking coupons to a digital app in Kuching is expected to be finalised this month, Kuching South City Council (MBKS) mayor Dato Wee Hong Seng said today.
MBKS is currently in discussions with Kuching City Parking System Sdn Bhd (KCPS) regarding this potential shift.
“The final decision will come out within this month. KCPS will make the announcement on the matter,” he told reporters when met at MBKS headquarters today.
He was asked by reporters if MBKS would consider using a mobile app to facilitate payment for parking fees in areas under its jurisdiction.
He said for the time being, MBKS was still studying the process to facilitate the transition.
“Of course we are trying to do away with the paper coupon, but whatever it is, they (KCPS and MBKS) are having a meeting by the middle of this month and they have to make a decision on how to move forward on the matter,” he added. — DayakDaily
