KUCHING, Nov 12: Kuching South City Council (MBKS) mayor Dato Wee Hong Seng is out of his six-day Covid-19 quarantine after testing negative for three consecutive days.

Today is the seventh day since he first contracted the virus and tested positive on Nov 6.

“If you’ve noticed, I’ve not been appearing on Facebook or the news for the past week or so. It’s because, after two years, I got Covid-19 seven days ago,” said Wee.

He said he was not feeling well last Sunday, so he did a self-test, which was positive.

After that, he went for an assessment at Batu Clinic Health Clinic and was prescribed Paxlovid pills, painkillers, cough syrup, and medicine for sore throat.

“Every four hours, I also took some traditional Chinese medicine for the lungs. In addition, I drank a lot of warm water, honey, and lemon water,” he shared during his ShallWeeTalk Facebook live session today.

Until today, he said he is still experiencing some coughs.

Meanwhile, Wee encouraged the general public to continue to wear their face masks, especially in crowded places.

“The new Covid-19 variant is here, so please don’t go to crowded places. Wear your face mask if you have to be in crowded places,” he advised. — DayakDaily
