KUCHING, May 16: The 2024 Kuching Festival Food Fair (KFFF) stall selection was carried out in the most transparent manner, according to Kuching South City Council (MBKS) mayor Dato Wee Hong Seng.

The mayor expressed hope that the stall selection process would not become a political issue because the voting process was done fairly.

“So please do not create any political issues. Don’t just create anything just because you want to get some publicity,” he told reporters during a press conference held today at the MBKS Council Chamber here.

The ballot process for the 2024 KFFF stall selection was done earlier this afternoon in the MBKS Council Chamber, with 260 stalls balloting.

The stalls were divided into three categories: premium stalls, single stalls, and half stalls.

The ballot process was witnessed by stall operators and media practitioners.

According to a press handout, MBKS balloted in 260 stalls after deducting stall space for double stalls, drinks stalls, winners of the 2023 KFFF Best Decorated Stalls, top donors and so on.

Upon the closing date of the KFFF food stall application, a total of 679 applications were received.

“All operators balloted this afternoon will be informed via phone calls and mail. Unsuccessful applications will also be notified and their deposit will be refunded,” the press handout stated.

The 2024 KFFF will take place at the MBKS grounds from July 26 to Aug 18, with daily hours from 5pm to 11pm. — DayakDaily
