KUCHING, Dec 30: The recreational park at Hui Sing will be given a facelift, says Kuching City South (MBKS) mayor Dato Wee Hong Seng.
“This is part and parcel of how we want to conserve the environment and stay healthy.
“Next year will be challenging as it is the road of recovery after missing out on many things for the past three years (due to the pandemic),” he said.
Wee shared this with reporters when asked about MBKS’ resolutions for 2023 before launching the radar speed advisory signs along Jalan Stutong today.
He said the facelift on the Hui Sing Recreational Park follows the same project implemented on the Kenyalang Recreational Park.
Meanwhile, he added that the council would continue improving the drainage systems in the council’s jurisdiction to overcome flash floods.
“We are getting the Drainage and Irrigation Department to assist us in looking into problem areas. We will solve them one by one,” he said.
He also reminded the public to be civic-minded and to not dispose of rubbish on the roadside, as this can lead to blockage and cause waterlogging.
“We appeal to the public to work together to protect the earth. Don’t spoil it. Do reach out to us if you have issues concerning us in our jurisdiction,” he said. — DayakDaily
