KUCHING, May 16: Nurses were celebrated for their unwavering dedication and vital contributions to public health as part of International Nurses Day today.
Leading the tribute, Kuching South City Council (MBKS) Mayor Dato Wee Hong Seng paid a heartfelt visit to Tanah Puteh Clinic to convey appreciation on behalf of the community.
Accompanied by MBKS councillors, Wee thanked the clinic’s nurses and healthcare workers for their compassion, sacrifices, and tireless efforts in delivering essential medical care to the people of Kuching.
“We honour and thank all nurses for their dedication, strength, and service. Their tireless efforts are deeply appreciated by MBKS and the people of Kuching South,” he said in a statement.
He also acknowledged the pivotal role nurses play in safeguarding the well-being of the city’s residents and supporting the broader healthcare system.
During the visit, the Mayor and his delegation were briefed by the clinic’s medical officer in charge on the progress of ongoing renovation works.
The officer highlighted several challenges under the Council’s jurisdiction and sought support to ensure the upgrades proceed smoothly and on schedule.
In response, Wee pledged that MBKS would look into how best it could assist, in line with the Council’s ongoing commitment to enhancing community health and public service infrastructure.
