KUCHING, Aug 27: The opening of the Borneo Medical Centre’s (BMC) first satellite laboratory in Gala City is a step forward in healthcare accessibility, opined Kuching South City Council (MBKS) mayor Dato Wee Hong Seng.
According to Wee, the satellite laboratory also offers fast results and efficiency.
“These advancements will undoubtedly make a difference in the lives of our citizens, as our health remains a priority,” he said during the launching ceremony of the BMC satellite laboratory held at Gala City today.
Meanwhile, BMC chairman Dr John Chew said the satellite lab aims to provide cost-effective lab tests to complement services offered at their main facility.
He also said the lab is open seven days a week, and results can be obtained swiftly.
“The specimens collected here are sent for processing in our main laboratory at BMC, which is ISO 15189 certified.
“This is the international quality standard which sets the requirements for quality management, technical processes, and competence in medical laboratories,” he added. — DayakDaily.
