KUCHING, June 24: Three cases of dog bites have been reported between June 19 and 24, with all the dogs tested positive for rabies.
Kuching South City Council (MBKS) Mayor Dato Wee Hong Seng disclosed that one of the incidents occurred at Mutiara MJC in Jalan Batu Kawa, where a stray dog bit the victim.
“The two other cases involved pet dogs. One case was reported at KM2 Jalan Muara Tuang and another at Jalan Maxwell.
“I believe the victims have received the appropriate treatment,” he said during today’s ShallWeeTalk live session with the community.
Meanwhile, MBKS will organise a rabies vaccination and microchipping programme on July 1 at the council’s Community Hall in Jalan Padungan from 9am to 4pm.
All pet owners are encouraged to take this opportunity to bring their pet dogs for their annual vaccinations.
It is reminded that pet animals, especially dogs, should receive their vaccination against rabies annually. — DayakDaily
