KUCHING, Feb 23: The anticipation builds as both local and Peninsular Malaysian artistes gear up to enthrall the residents of Kuching at the highly anticipated MBKS Chap Goh Mei 2024 Concert tomorrow night (Feb 24).
Mayor Dato Wee Hong Seng of Kuching South City Council (MBKS) personally inspected the rehearsals today at the MBKS Theatre (floating stage), the venue for this eagerly awaited event.
Expressing his delight at the thorough preparation for the concert, which commemorates the 15th day of the Lunar New Year, or Chap Goh Meh, Wee extended a warm invitation to the public from near and far, especially Kuchingites to join in the festivities commencing at 7.30pm.
“It is going to be a fun evening filled with entertainment. We have planned exciting lucky draws offering cwith cash prizes in red packets, a captivating fireworks, as well as lion and dragon dance performances. Come down and join us for a night of joy and celebration,” he remarked during a Facebook livestream today.
The concert, to feature a lineup of international sensations and homegrown talents, will kick off with a traditional lion and dragon dance performance.
A breathtaking fireworks display is also set to illuminate the night sky and amplify the festive ambiance.
Admission to the concert is free. Attendees are advised that seating will not be provided, but arrangements have been made to accommodate those in need, particularly senior citizens, with a limited number of chairs available.
