Massive brawl among youth landed a student in hospital

MIRI, Oct 26:  A brawl involving at least nine teenage boys has landed a 16-year-old secondary student in hospital.

Following the incident, the police made several arrests.


Nine individuals, aged 15 to 19 have been detained by the police today (Saturday) around 3am at Taman Tunku for their alleged involvement in the massive brawl that occurred on Wednesday.

Except for two of them, all the suspects arrested are students.

Miri police chief ACP Lim Meng Seah when contacted today confirmed the arrests.

“The commotion occurred because of misunderstanding between the victim and the suspects,” he said.

The whole incident started with a conflict in the school compound, which later escalated to the fist fight on Wednesday afternoon around 2.30pm. — DayakDaily
