KUCHING, August 19: Deputy Chief Minister Tan Sri Dr James Jemut Masing has been admitted to hospital for shortness of breath.

He clarified that his re-admission to Normah Medical Specialist Centre here was due to short of breath, caused by his disobedience of the doctorā€™s order for bed rest.

This is the second time Masing, who is also Infrastructure Development and Transportation Minister, was admitted this year, following his last admission in July.

ā€œI was told to have one month of rest after my angiogram on July 20. But I didnā€™t follow (the advice).

ā€œOne week later, I started to work and my heart hasnā€™t recovered. So I am now paying the price of disobedience,ā€ said Masing in a statement yesterday.

He said he has been instructed to take bed rest for two weeks with no activity and more checks will be conducted to ensure there are no other complications.

Masing made the statement to avoid any necessary speculations and to dispel any rumours with regards to his health. ā€” DayakDaily
