KUCHING, March 8: Continuous rainfall and high tides have triggered flooding in Marudi district, affecting 13 areas and 2,190 individuals.
According to reports by the District Disaster Management Committees of Marudi, Beluru, and Telang Usan, the flooding is caused by rise in water levels is due to high tide river water and intermittent heavy rain starting from March 5, 2025, until now.

As at 4pm today, the floods have impacted a total of seven kampung/longhouses, one clinic, and five schools, with the majority of the affected areas located in Mulu.
The following are the areas affected: Kampung Sungai Melinau, Kampung Batu Bungan, Long Panai, Mulu CAAM Lapangan Terbang quarters, Mulu police quarters, Rh Louis (Sungai Linei Merah), Mulu District Office, Klinik Kesihatan Taman Negara Mulu, SK Penghulu Baya Mallang, SMK Tutoh Apoh, SK Long Panai, SK Batu Bungan, and SK Long Lenei. – DayakDaily
