MARUDI, July 24: Marudi Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) fire station for two consecutive days starting from today will be delivering urgent relief to flood-affected areas in Marudi district in collaboration with the Welfare Department (JKM).
The aid which includes dry food items in 1,253 packs would benefit families from 19 flood-affected areas and would be delivered using a double-decker vessel (Bandung) from Marudi.
The 19 flood-affected areas are Kampung Tumau (32 packs): Rumah Jipun, Tanjung Upar (32 packs); Rumah Vincent, Tanjung Upar (68 packs); Rumah Philip Tanjung Upar (52); Rumah Gerinang Logan Tasong (22); Long Maro (128); Lubuk Kulat (4); Kampung Benawa (108); Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Benawa (18); Kuala Tutoh (152); Linei Bukit (129); Long Patan (24); Long Pahlo (17); Long Unuk (19); Long Panai Clinic (6); Long Panai (396); SK Long Panai (9); SMK Tutoh (26) and SK Penghulu Baya Mallang (11).
According to Marudi fire station chief Maureen Sim, the operation to deliver the food aid was also being assisted by other agencies including Civil Defence Force (APM) and People’s Volunteer Corps (Rela). — DayakDaily
