KUCHING, Aug 8: The federal government has agreed to provide quarantine and travel facilities for individuals who have received complete vaccinations nationwide beginning Tuesday (Aug 10).
Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said however, a person is only recognised as an individual who has completed his or her vaccination when he or she has already done so for a certain period.
“For vaccine types which require two doses of injection (Pfizer, AstraZeneca, and Sinovac), the individual must have passed the 14th day from the date of the second dose or injection.
“For vaccine types which require only one dose of injection (Johnson & Johnson and CanSino), the individual must have passed the 28th day from the date of injection,” he said when announcing permitted movement for individuals who had completed vaccinations in a live telecast today.
Muhyiddin also said the facilities apply to all phases of the National Recovery Plan (NRP).
Among the allowances is that citizen and non-citizen travelers who have residence in Malaysia (including Permanent Resident and Malaysia MY Second Home holders) who return or arrive from abroad and have received their full vaccination dose, are allowed to undergo mandatory quarantine at home and are given a digital Home Surveillance and Observation Order (HSO).
Additionally, Muhyiddin said individuals wishing to travel cross-district must present a digital Covid-19 vaccination certificate to security personnel at roadblocks to indicate that the individual has received a complete vaccination.
“Meanwhile, long-distance married couples who have received a full-dose vaccine are allowed to travel in between districts or States to meet their respective spouses.
“Parents who have received the full-dose vaccine are also allowed to cross districts and States to see their children under the age of 18,” Muhyiddin added. — DayakDaily
