“Now it is the time for the Bidayuh community to reciprocate the government of the day.

“We can deliver the eight seats. From Opar up to Bukit Semuja,” the Tebedu assemblyman said during his speech prior to the presentation of grants by the state government to DBNA for the construction of a community hostel here today.

The eight Bidayuh majority seats are Opar, Tasik Biru, Serembu, Mambong, Tarat, Tebedu, Kedup and Bukit Semuja.

Manyin who is also the Education, Science, Technological Research Minister said the best way to repay the deeds of the GPS government is for the Bidayuh community to continue to support the state government.

Earlier, he said the state government was generous to provide development grants which amounted to RM16 million for DBNA to build the community hostel.

Thus, he urged the Bidayuh community to repay the contribution that the state government has given to the Bidayuh community at the upcoming state election.

On another note, he called on the Bidayuh community to be united and work towards a common goal for the progress of the community.

Among those present at the event were Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg, DBNA president Datuk Ik Pahon Joyik who is also the Deputy State Secretary, the Prime Minister’s Special Envoy to East Asia Datuk Seri Richard Riot Jaem, Deputy State Secretary Datuk Seri Abu Bakar Marzuki, community leaders and other guests. — DayakDaily
