KUCHING, May 20: SMK Tebakang received a RM30,000 allocation to upgrade nine of its classrooms as pilot classes to be equipped with modern learning and teaching equipment.

The Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas) in a report today said the special allocation was handed over to the school by the Education, Science and Technological Research Minister Datuk Amar Michael Manyin Jawong, under his Minor Rural Project (MRP) allocation on Wednesday (May 19).

According to the report, Manyin, who is also Tebedu assemblyman, said the upgrade will enable the nine classes to be equipped with teaching equipment such as the use of a laptop, projectors and digital screen.

“In addition, the teachers no longer need to use chalk or markers. What is important is they (teachers) need to be proficient in using computers and the internet,” said Manyin. — DayakDaily
