KUCHING, Dec 19: The 12th Sarawak State election has inspired Pujut assemblyman Adam Yii Siew Sang to be a better person and to do better for his constituents.
“In the course of the campaign, I have learned much. I intend to do things in a better way, be a better person, and interact more with people,” he said in a statement today.
Newcomer Yii was elected as the Pujut assemblyman, winning the seat which was previously held by Democratic Action Party’s (DAP) Dr Ting Tiong Choon until the seat was vacated following Dr Ting’s disqualification as an assemblyman due to holding dual citizenship.
In his first foray into the State political scene, Yii defeated DAP heavyweight Alan Ling, who was a former Piasau assemblyman, with a majority of 1,566 votes.
Yii is currently the Miri City Council mayor. — Dayakdaily
