Man who allegedly whacked his son-in-law in public released on police bail

KUCHING, Oct 29: A 48-year-old man who allegedly beat up his son-in-law recently was released on police bail today after being remanded for two days.

He was believed to be the attacker in a video assaulting a young man in a public area. The video went viral on social media last week.

It was believed that the incident was sparked by the abuse of his daughter and the failure to take good care of his granddaughter by his son-in-law.

The man was arrested by the police on Friday (Oct 26) at 10:50am at Bintawa Village. He was brought to court the following day, and the magistrate granted a two-day remand to facilitate investigation into the case.
