Man sustains thigh injuries in freak accident

Medical personnel bandaging the victim's thigh at Kanowit Hospital after part of the arrow was cut off.

KUCHING, Nov 2: A man from Kanowit suffered injuries on his thigh after being pierced by an arrow from a fish gun in a freak accident today.

According to Kanowit Fire and Rescue (Bomba) Department chief PpgB Arrahman Chik, they received a call at 12.37pm from Kanowit District Hospital, requesting for assistance to remove the arrow from the victim.

“After doing a “size up” on the victim, firefighters later shorten the arrow by cutting it using a hydraulic cutter after being advised by the medical personnel in the Kanowit Hospital,” he said in a statement today.


Arrahman added the victim, who is in a stable condition, was later brought to Sibu Hospital for an operation to remove the remaining arrow left on his thigh. –DayakDaily.
