KUCHING, Feb 17: A man was handed over to the police on suspicion of attempting to burn down his house at Taman Asean, Bintulu last night.
The incident happened around 9pm, when the suspect’s neighbour saw flames in the suspect’s house.
Police and Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) personnel later arrived at the scene, but the suspect refused to let them enter the house.
After negotiations, the suspect allowed one police and one Bomba personnel to enter the house to check the situation.
It was discovered that the suspect was burning rubbish in a bin on the second floor and the fire had not damaged the house structure.
The suspect was later handed over to the police for further investigation. — DayakDaily
