Man suffers burns in house fire at Stutong Baru

Stutong fire (2) — Firefighters extinguishing the flame, which destroyed the single story house in Stutong Baru.

KUCHING, Dec 20: A man suffered burns on his back during an early morning fire that completely razed his house at Stutong Baru here today.

According to the state Fire and Rescue operations centre, a team of 11 firefighters from its Batu Lintang and Padungan fire stations were dispatched to the scene upon receiving a distress call at 4.07am.

The department also deployed personnel from its Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS).

EMRS personnel treating the victim before he was sent to the hospital.

“Our operation commander reported that a single storey house in Stutong Baru was destroyed 100 per cent and one victim suffered back injuries during the fire incident.

“The victim was sent to the hospital for further treatment,” the department said in a statement. — DayakDaily
