KUCHING, Sept 18: A local man’s grudge against his former neighbour took a violent turn when he followed and assaulted the victim with a sword, leaving him seriously injured.

At the conclusion of today’s trial, Choo, a former businessman, was found guilty under Section 326 of the Penal Code for causing grievous hurt using a weapon.
Choo was charged with intentionally inflicted injuries on the 48-year-old victim with a sword in front of a licensed public lottery ticket outlet in Tabuan Jaya at around 6.55pm on Feb 14, 2021.
Case facts revealed that on the day of the attack, the victim, who worked as a mechanic, was followed by the accused to the parking lot in front of the lottery outlet where without warning, Choo attacked the victim with the sword, severely injuring him.
