KUCHING, Aug 8: A man was killed in a fatal accident at Miri to Bintulu Road on Saturday afternoon.
He was believed to have lost control of the car he was driving which skidded and subsequently caught fire by the roadside.
Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) was contacted at 12.57 pm and a team was deployed to the scene.
According to a statement from the Bomba Operation Centre, the deceased together with a female passenger were brought out from the car by the public before the fire consumed the vehicle.
Bomba reached the scene and immediately started their operation to put out the fire.
The driver was pronounced dead by the medical officer at the scene while the female passenger suffered minor injuries from the accident.
The operation ended at 1.53 pm and the firefighters returned to their station. -DayakDaily.
