KUCHING, June 2: A man was killed in an accident when the car he was in plunged into a ravine at Kampung Batu Kepit Bukit Punda, Simunjan, on Sunday (June 1).
According to a report from the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), an emergency call was received at 6.49pm, and firefighters from the Simunjan station were deployed.
Upon arrival, it was noted that the accident involved a car that had fallen into the ravine, approximately 30 metres below road level.
The deceased, identified as 53-year-old Richman Nyawan, was the passenger. Paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene. Meanwhile, the driver, Vincent Bong Kong Fui, 53, was unharmed.
The remains of the deceased were carried out on a stretcher and subsequently handed over to the police for further action. — DayakDaily
