Man killed after car crashes into tree

BINTULU, April 15: A man succumbed to his injuries after a car that he was travelling is skidded and crashed into a tree along Jalan Tanjong Kidurong in the wee hours of Sunday.

According to Sarawak Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department chief Supt Alexson Naga Chabu, in the 3.45am incident, the victim, Duncan Kuching, 49, who was driving a Perodua Alza died on the spot due to sustained injuries.

“The victim was heading towards Bintulu town from Tanjong Kidurong when he suddenly lost control of the vehicle, and rammed into a tree,” said Alexson.

The crash trapped Duncan in his seat. A team of Bintulu firefighters was immediately mobilised to the scene to help extricate the body.

The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987. — DayakDaily
