KUCHING, Dec 6: A 41-year-old man succumbed to injuries after his car collided with a 4-wheel-drive (4WD) vehicle along Kampung Selaut Julau road, Bintangor, this evening.
According to the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) in a statement, they received a call from the Julau police station requesting for assistance to rescue the victim, who was pinned inside his car.
“Firefighters arrived at the location and found that a sedan car had collided with a four-wheel-drive vehicle, where the victim was pinned inside on the driver’s seat. Firefighters proceeded with the rescue operation using rescue tools to remove the victim from the vehicle,” the statement revealed.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene by medical officers from the Julau Clinic and was handed over to the police for further action.
Two other victims who were traveling in the 4WD vehicle were safe and unharmed.
A total of seven firefighters from the Bintangor fire station, led by PBK II Samsawi Mohamad were deployed to the location. — DayakDaily
