KUCHING, Jan 8: A man was trapped by the leg and sustained injuries following a collision between a four-wheel-drive vehicle (4×4) and an oil palm lorry at KM20 of Jalan Sibu-Bintulu, Selangau, this morning.
The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Sarawak promptly responded to the scene and immediately mobilised a team of firefighters from the Selangau Station to rescue the victim at 11.35am.
According to a report from Bomba Sarawak operation centre, using road traffic accident (RTA) extraction equipment, firefighters successfully freed the driver of 4×4, who had been pinned by the leg during the crash.
The injured man was immediately transported to the nearest medical facility for further treatment.
Members of the rescue team ensured that the location is safe and has cleaned up the road after the accident.
