Man hurt with sharp object during brawl in Sibu entertainment outlet

SIBU, Nov 18: A woman lodged a police report after her husband was slashed in an incident last Saturday.

Sibu district police chief ACP Stanley Jonathan Ringgit disclosed the complainant received a phone call at 2.45am from her husband’s friend informing her that her husband had been admitted to the Sibu Hospital emergency ward .

The friend also told the complainant that her husband suffered injuries to the left of his neck and chest after he was slashed by a sharp object.


“Investigation found that during the incident, the victim, a 36-year-old contractor, went to an entertainment outlet in Jalan Pedada by himself and had an argument with one of the entertainment outlet’s customers.

“The suspect had earlier put his cigarette inside the victim’s drink and the victim had punched the suspect, which made the suspect angry and he swung something at the victim which caused injuries to the victim’s face and chest,” Stanley revealed in a statement today.

The victim also had lacerations on his left jaw and right side of his chest.

The suspect has been arrested and remanded, while police are still looking for the weapon.

The case is being investigate under Section 326 of the Penal Code. — DayakDaily
