The incident occurred on June 23, 2024, when police arrested Mohd Hazrul following the circulation of a viral video on social media.

The video showed him pointing a pistol at his friend in a car parked in front of a supermarket in Metro City, Matang.

An investigation revealed that Mohd Hazrul had used a toy pistol for the prank in a public area and posted the video on his WhatsApp status, where it quickly spread to other social media platforms, causing public alarm.

The toy pistol, confirmed by police to be incapable of firing ammunition, nonetheless raised significant concern among the public.

To prevent similar incidents, the court has mandated that Mohd Hazrul adhere to a six-month peace bond.

Inspector Merylene Lindan Andrew Mang prosecuted the case, while Mohd Hazrul did not have legal representation. — DayakDaily
