KUCHING, July 1: Dato Fenny Nuli has reaffirmed her commitment to strengthening Malaysia’s trade and investment ties while championing Sarawak’s interests in Vienna, Austria and Slovakia, as she prepares to assume her new role as Malaysia’s Ambassador to the Republic of Austria.
She said the farewell courtesy visit to the Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg was not only a gesture of appreciation for the close cooperation between the Sarawak government and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs throughout her service, but also an important platform to explore ways of expanding strategic cooperation between Sarawak, Austria and Slovakia.
“We also discussed the potential for cooperation that can be explored based on Sarawak’s interests in Vienna, Austria and Slovakia, including areas of interest to Sarawak for us, as the embassy, to look into and help implement.
“As Malaysia’s Ambassador, I hope to continue championing the country’s interests, particularly in strengthening trade and investment between Malaysia and Austria as well as Slovakia.
“The Malaysian Embassy in Vienna is also always ready to assist any state that wishes to promote cooperation or explore new opportunities with both countries,” she said in a Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas) news.
Fenny highlighted this to the media after her courtesy visit to the Sarawak Premier at the Satria Pertiwi Complex today.
She added that Austria is well known for its expertise in green hydrogen, water management and advanced technologies, while Slovakia has established itself as a key automotive technology hub in Europe.
“I see that Malaysia has great potential to collaborate with both countries in these fields, and that is among the matters I discussed with the Sarawak Premier today,” she said.
Fenny emphasised that she also sought the views and advice of the Sarawak Premier on several matters of importance involving Sarawak and Malaysia, as part of her preparation before beginning her diplomatic assignment in Europe. — DayakDaily
