Man fined RM3,500 for hitting wife’s boyfriend’s car

KUCHING, Dec 14: The Magistrate’s Court here has fined a local man RM3,500 or in default to three months’ imprisonment for intentionally committing mischief on a Toyota Hilux belonging to his wife’s boyfriend.

Mohamad Nur Fizdris Ideris, 33, from Lawas pleaded guilty to the charge framed before Magistrate Fatimah Azura Wan Ali.

He was found to have voluntarily caused damage to the vehicle, which belonged to the victim’s company at a house in Taman Janting, Batu Kawa, at about 2.30pm on Aug 7.

He was charged under Section 427 of the Penal Code, which carries an imprisonment term of up to two years or a fine or both, upon conviction.

According to the brief facts of the case, the accused went to the victim’s house with a long object and started to use the long object to hit the car that was parked there and caused a loss of about RM2,000.

The cause of the incident was because the accused was angry that the victim kept going out with his wife and had neglected their six-year-old child.

It was understood that the accused and his wife are in the process of getting a divorce.

Prosecuting Officer Inspector Mohd Adzmei prosecuted while the accused was unrepresented by counsel. — DayakDaily
