Magistrate Syarifah Fatihmah Azura Wan Ali sentenced Mohd Khairol Ismawi, 33, to a fine of RM3,000 or in default to three months imprisonment after the latter pleaded guilty to the charge framed under Section 506 of the Penal Code.
Section 506 of the Penal Code carries imprisonment for a term which may extend to two years or with fine or with both, upon conviction.
Khairol allegedly committed criminal intimidation towards his sister, Siti Safarina, at their house in Kampung Rampangi, Jalan Sultan Tengah, at about 3pm on Oct 7, 2021.
According to the brief facts of the case, the accused started to get angry at the victim when the victim’s one-year-old son was crying non-stop.
The accused had then used a spanner to threaten to kill the victim. The victim was worried about her safety and thus lodged a police report for further action.
