KUCHING, July 8: A 58-year-old man is feared to have been attacked and dragged into the river by a crocodile while fishing at Kampung Pandam in Limbang this afternoon.
According to the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), a distress call was received at 3.13pm, prompting the mobilisation of three personnel from the Limbang Fire and Rescue Station (BBP Limbang) to the scene.
Limbang operation commander Mazrom @ Anderson Ampahon said the report was initially made by the Limbang District Police Headquarters (IPD), stating that the victim, identified as Karim Osman, was believed to have been attacked by a crocodile while fishing.
“A witness told authorities that upon arriving at the scene, only the victim’s belongings and fishing gear were found. The witness then lodged a report with the police,” he said in a statement today, as reported by TVS.
