MIRI, July 23: A man seeking a loan to help his finances, ended up being cheated of nearly RM2,000 on Sarawak Day.
The victim, in his early 20’s, thought that a new friend that he made via Facebook could help him out, but instead, he ended up forking out cash to the conman.
According to a police source, the victim who is working as a technician, was asked to pay various amounts as processing fees to enable his loan application to be processed.
At least three transactions were made, amounting to nearly RM2,000.
However, the victim belatedly realised he was being conned after the transactions were made.
