Malaysia records 21 new Covid-19 cases today

KUCHING, July 24: Malaysia has recorded 21 new Covid-19 cases and three recoveries today.

Health Ministry director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah in his updates of Covid-19 statistics posting on the ministry’s Facebook page, said that of the 21 cases, 16 were local transmissions while five were import cases.

This brings the total cumulative number of positive cases to 8,861, while the cumulative recoveries are now at 8,577.


No new Covid-19 deaths were reported, leaving the country’s death toll from the infectious disease remain unchanged at 123.

Currently, there are 161 active cases being treated in hospitals nationwide.

Five patients are being treated in the intensive care unit (ICU), out of which, two required the aid of breathing machines.—DayakDaily
