KUCHING, May 28: Malaysia, as the Official Destination Partner of the ITB China trade fair this year, highlights the nation’s growing prominence in the global tourism industry and strong bond with China, Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Tiong King says.
In a Facebook post, the Minister emphasised the importance of ITB China as a premier B2B travel trade fair, bringing together top travel professionals and key buyers from across Greater China. With Malaysia as a key partner, it opens up boundless opportunities for the nation to promote its tourism products.
“It’s a fantastic place to network and make meaningful business connections. I’m excited about the chance to strengthen ties, deepen partnerships, and explore innovative ways to boost tourism in our region,” he said.
Tiong noted that tourism is not merely about facilitating travel, but also about fostering cooperation in policy-making, resource sharing, and cultural exchange.
“Tourism is more than just getting people from A to B; it’s about sharing policies, resources, and ideas. Malaysia is committed to working closely with international tourism bodies to build a more inclusive and resilient ecosystem,” he said.
“We can’t wait to use platforms like ITB China to highlight our sustainable tourism efforts, community involvement, and creative culture. I warmly welcome friends from around the world to come and experience Malaysia’s unique charm!”
ITB China is a leading three-day B2B travel trade event, held from May 27 to 29, focused exclusively on the Chinese travel market. The fair connects top-tier, hand-selected buyers from China with industry professionals from across the globe.
As Malaysia gears up for Visit Malaysia 2026, Tiong said, the Ministry aims to showcase Malaysia’s cultural diversity, natural beauty, and hospitality in fresh and exciting ways. – DayakDaily
